Survey on Adaptive Control


Abstract:

The aim of the presentation was to give an overview of the possibilities of adaptive control and its restrictions. A general introduction to control theory is given, to get a deeper understanding of the underlying principles.
Different Approaches like Gain Scheduling, Model Reference Adaptive Systems (MRAS), Self Tuning Regulators (STR) and Dual Control are explained in a very basic way. Their advantages and disadvantages are shown. Finally a short overview of how to extent the concepts to nonlinear systems is given. The presentation closes with conclusions and outlooks.
